New CHAMPS Member The Remix joins the Second Saturday lineup with their Grand Opening this Saturday! Stop by between 11:00 am and 9:00 pm to see all the great finds Stacey Ditata has brought to Capitol Hill and enjoy some dance performances, impromptu fashion shows and more. From 4-7 PM, Capitol Hill Books at 657 C St. SE will offer special prices for its Dead Author's Program with prices of Mark Twain books reduced 20% from the store's already reduced prices. Hardback Mysteries are reduced to 75% off store price and all other books will be reduced 10%. Wine and cheese will be served.

The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) will offer an Open House from 10:00 am -2:00 pm, to showcase its Fall classes. There will be sample classes for yoga (11am to Noon) and paper making (11am to 1pm) and the staff will offer building tours.

Return in the evening for the opening of CHAW's annual Photography Exhibit (5:00 pm to 7:00 pm) juried by Capitol Hill photographer and teacher, Bruce McKaig, About thirty entries were selected for the exhibit, which runs through September 29th.

All events are free and also offer the chance to welcome Jody Barasch, Jenny Chowning, and Jill Strachan to their new positions at CHAW. (CHAW is located at 545 7th St. SE, a short distance from Eastern Market metro.)

Chateau-Animaux at 524 8th St. SE hosts a Second Saturday Yappy Hour! from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wine & cheese for you, gourmet, all-natural Zanadoo Dog Biscuits for your "Best Friend." (and stop by on Sunday from 12:00 - 3:00 pm for a cat adoption event too!)
