Capitol
Hill’s premier pet boutique, Doolittle’s Chateau-Animaux, will be featured on
twenty-one television news shows across the country over the next two weeks.
Veteran news correspondent Stacy Hutchins, Belo Capital Bureau, filmed the
local establishment last week for an up-coming feature report on high-tech dog
tags sold at the store and on its website, www.chateau-animaux.com.
The
tags, known as “Dog-e-Tags,” have high-resolution digital displays and can
store up to 40 lines of information in five different languages. Ms. Hutchins
interviewed Chateau-Animaux owner, Dennis Bourgault, and employee Jay Keegan
about the tag’s functionality and usefulness. Mr. Keegan, who is active in
Greyhound rescue and pet therapy, noted that the tags are “pretty easy to
program and very useful for fostering dogs. One tag can be used over and over with
successive fosters.”
Mr.
Bourgault also noted that the tags are “perfect for people who travel with
their pets. Whether they’re here on the Hill, or at the beach house or even
traveling abroad, the tags can always stay current, with plenty of room for all
the relevant addresses and phone numbers.” They are “also great for dogs that
have any kind of allergies of medical conditions, since that information can
also be programmed in for anyone to see if the dog wanders off.”
The interview
featured Mr. Keegan walking his greyhounds around his home on 8th Street, SE,
and both interior and exterior shots of Doolittle’s Chateau-Animaux on 7th
Street, SE. It is being distributed to the following stations for viewing:
